Tom Mawhinney is the founder and managing director of Marketing the Mousetrap (MTM). Tom started MTM in 2002 after developing his business and leadership skills with companies like IBM, Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) and Computer Associates for more than a decade. While studying the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and corporate executives through the pursuit of his Executive Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 2001, Tom identified the need for a consulting organization that could complement the creative genius possessed by thousands of entrepreneurs across North America. Building from an initial focus on marketing strategy and revenue generation, Tom has developed MTM into a world class consulting organization that provides leadership, strategic and operational direction to entrepreneurs and business professionals across the continent.

A member of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 (Class of 2006), Tom has been recognized as an exceptional business leader and an individual capable of delivering breakthrough results. His business philosophy revolves around the premise that without the ability to effectively communicate the virtues of your product or company, “building a better mousetrap” will get you nowhere.
